Multiple Electrolytes and Dextrose Injection Type-II IP

Multiple Electrolytes and Dextrose Injection Type-II IP

Therapeutic Use:

Multiple Electrolytes and Dextrose Injection Type-II IP is a sterile, non-pyrogenic intravenous solution used for rehydration, electrolyte restoration, and short-term energy supplementation. It is commonly indicated in the management of dehydration, mild electrolyte imbalances, and during post-operative recovery or acute illness requiring supportive care.

Mechanism of Action:

This formulation contains dextrose along with essential electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, and lactate. Dextrose is rapidly absorbed and metabolized to provide energy, while electrolytes help replenish losses and maintain vital cellular activities. Lactate is metabolized to bicarbonate, aiding in the correction of mild metabolic acidosis and stabilizing the body’s acid-base status.

Key Benefits:

  • ✔ Replenishes fluids and corrects mild electrolyte imbalances.
  • ✔ Provides an immediate energy source through dextrose metabolism.
  • ✔ Supports acid-base balance via lactate buffering.
  • ✔ Ideal for perioperative support and mild dehydration.
  • ✔ Helps maintain cellular and organ function during acute care.
