Multiple Electrolytes and Dextrose Injection Type-I IP

Multiple Electrolytes and Dextrose Injection Type-I IP

Therapeutic Use:

Multiple Electrolytes and Dextrose Injection Type-I IP is a sterile, non-pyrogenic intravenous solution intended for fluid and electrolyte replenishment along with immediate energy supply. It is widely used in clinical situations involving dehydration, mild electrolyte disturbances, and short-term nutritional support in surgical, trauma, or recovery settings.

Mechanism of Action:

This solution delivers a combination of dextrose and key electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, chloride, and lactate. Dextrose is metabolized quickly to provide energy at the cellular level, while the electrolyte mix helps restore plasma electrolyte concentrations. Lactate acts as an alkalinizing agent by converting to bicarbonate in the liver, assisting in correction of mild metabolic acidosis.

Key Benefits:

  • ✔ Restores fluid balance and corrects minor electrolyte imbalances.
  • ✔ Provides immediate energy to support metabolic functions.
  • ✔ Aids in buffering mild metabolic acidosis with lactate.
  • ✔ Enhances recovery in post-operative and acutely ill patients.
  • ✔ Maintains physiological homeostasis during rehydration therapy.
